# Industrial Production Up By 1.7 Percent In February (2)
Istanbul, April 8 (DHA) - Seasonally and calendar adjusted industrial production increased by 1.7 percent compared with the previous month, according the data released by Turkstat on Wednesday.
Calendar adjusted industrial production rose by 1.0 percent compared with the same month last year, Turkstat said in the statement on the Industrial Pruduction data.
Mining and quarrying index increased by 5.8 percent, manufacturing index increased by 1.7 percent and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index increased by 0.3 percent in February, compared with the previous month.
While mining and quarrying index decreased by 0.7 percent, manufacturing index increased by 0.7 percent and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index increased by 3.2 percent in February on annual basis.
According to the main industrial groupings classification, the largest increase was in durable consumer goods by 6.6 percent in February on monthly basis.
In the sub sectors of the manufacturing, the largest increase was in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations by 10.0 percent, followed by manufacture of furniture by 8.1 percent and electrical equipment by 7.2 percent on monthly basis in February.
The highest decrease was in manufacture of other transport equipment by 11.7 percent, followed by manufacture of leather and related products by 10.0 percent and manufacture of tobacco products by 4.9 percent in February on monthly basis.
